Ashish Shakya Biography Wiki 

Ashish Shakya is an Indian Freelance Writer and Editing Professional who is currently Working with CNN-IBN ( Mumbai, India ) and also the co-founder of All India Bakchod usually abbreviated and referred to as AIB, an Indian comedy group. It was initially founded by Gursimran Khamba and Tanmay Bhat and was later joined by Rohan Joshi and Ashish, Abish Mathew and Kaneez Surka. The group has made a youtube channel also that usually reveals their comedy acts and parodies on subjects like Politics, Films, society and much more. As of 2015 March, the channel has crossed above 85 million views along with almost 1.157 million subscribers on YouTube. Initially, the group used to podcast their acts but later used youtube channel to send their thoughts and acts to the outer world.

Ashish Shakya is a stand-up comedian, humour columnist and TV writer, with eight years of work experience. On the TV front, he's worked with brands that include MTV, Channel V, Bindass and SAB TV, having written stand-up, sketches, magazine-style shows and reality TV. As of now, he has been co-writing the hit news comedy show 'The Week That Wasn't with Cyrus Broacha' on CNN-IBN for about five years (300 episodes and counting)

He also has a weekly humour column (more than four years old) with the Hindustan Times, titled 'The Blunder Years', wherein he expounds on everything from Pakistan to the futility of politics and online dating and everything in between. (You can read the columns here:

With more than a 100 stage appearances under his belt, Ashish is also one of India’s finest stand-up comedians. Following a series of open mics and pub gigs, Ashish earned himself a recurring spot at the prestigious Comedy Store (now known as the Canvas Laugh Factory), Mumbai, and was one of the first Indians to get picked for their roster. He is now a regular fixture at the Laugh Factory, wherein he performs with top Indian and international comics. He has performed in Dubai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Goa, Indore and Chennai, and has written for brands that include the Filmfare Awards 2012, ET Now, the Hero Group and the Aditya Birla Group, to name just a few.

He’s also part of the comedy collective known as All India Bakchod (AIB), along with Gursimran Khamba, Tanmay Bhat and Rohan Joshi. AIB has launched five live properties in just over a year, including the hugely successful mock Bollywood award show, the Royal Turds. AIB recently forayed into the world of digital content with its online weekly sketch show, AIB365, created in partnership with Youtube and produced by OML.

Ashish’s own stand-up takes a no-holds-barred look at everything from Indian and international politics to pop culture, relationships and the general idiocy and idiosyncrasies of the world. It is edgy and mature in its sensibilities.
