Manoj Bhargava Wiki Biography 

Manoj Bhargava is an American businessman with an Indian origin. He is known as a philanthropist and entrepreneur, most known as founder and CEO of 5-hour Energy, a 2-ounce energy shot. He is owning a company called The Hans Foundation which is actually a  charitable trust fund that was created to provide a source of endowment for not-for-profit organisations in India. He is the active member of  Giving Pledge campaign and recently announced that he is going to dedicate 99% of his wealth to charity. Apart from Hans Foundation , he is also executing a trust called Rural India Supporting Trust. He is planning to make 10,000 stationary, power-generating bikes for  rural homes and villages in India next year in 2016.

Manoj Bhargava Early Life, Education And Background 

Manoj Bhargava was born in the year 1953 in Lucknow ( Uttar Pradesh, India ) and shifted to Philadelphia with his family in 1967. He used to be a maths scholar in his school and won a relevant scholarship to an "elite private academy" called The Hill School. Later on, he completed rest of his education from Princeton University. In the year 1990, he came up with two successful plastic companies in the USA and after that arrived with a new product called, 5-Hour Energy. By the end of 2011, his brand generated more than $1 billion in sales. But due to some questionable marketing tactics and alleged health risk factor, his product went into some legal issues. In his early Life, Bhargava worked at a variety of jobs including construction labourer, cleaning contractor, accounting clerk, taxi driver, printing press operator and business manager. He started a plastics raw material company in 1990, Prime PVC Inc., now called Prime Conduit, which he grew to $20 million in sales and then sold to a private equity firm. After that, he started a consumer products company, Living Essentials. In 2013, Forbes reported Bhargava's net worth to be $1.5 billion but he was dropped from their list of billionaires in 2014. He has launched several more companies like MicroDose Life Sciences, State 2 Innovations LLC, a private equity fund called ETC Capital LLC and the Plymouth Real Estate Holdings LLC.
